Dan Schneider has been practicing entertainment, corporate, new media, intellectual property (copyrights and trademarks) and real property law for more than 28 years in Manhattan and Woodstock, N.Y. A graduate of Vassar College (AB, 1979, Evans Fellow in Law) and Emory Law School (JD, 1982, Emory Scholar), he is admitted to the New York and Georgia bars, as well as to the U.S. District Court (Southern District, N.Y.). A member of numerous non-profit Boards, including The America The Beautiful Fund, The Giulio Gari Foundation and the Hudson Valley Technology and Commerce,  Dan was the founder of Woodstock Mediation (www.woodstockmediation.com) and First Mondays (www.firstmondays.com). Charlotte W. Pfahl, Esq.: Charlotte received a B.A. cum laude from University of Denver in 1973 and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1978. She also attended Oxford University, Oxford, U.K., the N.Y.U. School of Law, LLM. in Taxation, and the World Trade Institute.

Ms. Pfahl specializes in private client matters (wills, trusts, family limited partnerships) and real estate law. She represents foreign and domestic clients – including individuals, trusts, partnerships and corporations in a number of jurisdictions – on a broad range of domestic and transnational business transactions, including organization of domestic and off-shore entities and trusts, acquisitions of business interests and property, buy-outs and financing, as well as real estate matters, commercial and residential acquisitions, and leasing. Her real estate-related clients include cooperative corporations, developers, foreign banking institutions, and private investors.

Ms. Pfahl is admitted to practice in the States of New York and Florida and to the Bars of the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Claims, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is a member of the Financial Women’s Association and The International Alliance.

Jillian K. Markowitz, Esq. received her B.A. cum laude from The Gallatin School of Individualized Studies at New York University in 2007.  Her undergrad degree combined studies in film and business; this unique blend of interdisciplinary interests led her to accept a full scholarship from Hofstra Law School where she graduated with honors in 2010.  Upon graduation, Ms. Markowitz received an award for her concentration in Corporate & Business Law.

As producer of the unreleased film Elise, Ms. Markowitz has experience in contracts and copyright laws and her knowledge of real estate matters was gained first hand in the New York State Housing Court.

She is currently assistant director for the I Can Still Do That Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the mentoring and retraining of American workers.

Ms. Markowitz was admitted to the New York State Bar in January 2011.

Of Counsel

Barry J. Heyman, Esq. is an entertainment attorney licensed to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Heyman earned his JD cum laude from New York Law School, after working in the Copyright Administration department at PolyGram Records and Universal Music Group for seven years. He has worked with MTV Networks, Eagle Rock Entertainment, Razorfish Studios, and with the law firms of Proskauer Rose, LLP and Debevoise & Plimpton. At Debevoise & Plimpton, Mr. Heyman co-produced the television program The Digital Age.

Currently, Mr. Heyman counsels clients regarding protecting their intellectual property, and advises individuals and companies in connection with licensing, recording, production, distribution, publishing, and related contracts. He provides strategic advice on various aspects of the music and media industries, including current technological changes and alternative copyright distribution and exploitation models.

As an adjunct professor at NYU, Mr. Heyman has taught the graduate course entitled Law and the Music Industry. Course topics included intellectual property concepts and licensing arrangements related to the music and new media industries.

Mr. Heyman received his Music Business degree, cum laude, from New York University and his J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School.

J. CHARLEY LONDONO

Prior to practicing law in California and Florida, Charley was a music industry executive, having worked in the radio promotion departments of Arista Records, A&M Records, IRS Records, and MCA Records.  He primarily practices in the areas of film, television, music, and new media.  Charley counsels both companies and individuals regarding entertainment transactional issues.  His practice concentrates in the protection, clearance, licensing and distribution of intellectual property rights for film, television, music, and new media.  He also practices real estate and construction law and was involved in the development and infrastructure build out of an 80-acre, 180 lot residential subdivision in Florida; and the construction, marketing, and sale of single family homes thereon.  Charley is a member of the California and Florida Bar Associations and holds real estate broker licenses for California and Florida.

Arts & Entertainment Law: we counsel New York and international artists and companies in all aspects of intellectual property, including production, licensing, distribution for music, film, television and multimedia.

New Media Law: we assist New York and international technology, e-commerce, software and website design companies.

Commercial and Corporate Law: we provide on-going counsel to closely-held corporations, private foundations, LLC’s, LLP’s and Family Limited Partnerships.

Estates & Trusts: we advise foreign and domestic clients in developing sophisticated estate plans to minimize estate taxes and to provide for continuity in institutions and family businesses through wills, trusts, guardianships, charitable trusts, planned giving, probate and probate planning.

Real Estate Law: we handle purchases and sales, financing and refinancing, for residential properties, houses, co-ops, condos, as well as commercial leasing, acquisition, financing, and New York co-op and condo building representation.
